Hey there internets, my name is Stanley. I'm a Merlequin Great Dane.
I weigh 135 pounds, I eat 14 pounds of food a week and no I don't come with a saddle. Oh, and I'm deaf. Yep, deaf as a doornail, so comes in handy when I want to ignore a command my mom has given me.
She uses hand signals to tell me when to sit, stay, down, shake, settle, good boy, free dog and that she loves me. She also uses this one fingered command after I spread the trash all over the house. Not sure what that one means.
I live with my mom in Idaho. It's a great place where we love to hike, camp, visit hot springs, walk by the river, visit local beer garden patios and hang out with friends. So it may come as a shock to you all to hear that we are moving to New York soon. Yeah, I don't know what my mom is thinking. We have it so good here with all the dogs we know and all the restaurants with outdoor patios that let me hang with my mom and her friends. But she says life is short and we have many adventures ahead of us and since she brings home the dogfood, I guess she knows what she's talking about. Wait a minute, where will my dogfood come from when we are in NY? Not the feed store where I get treats and sneak pigs ears when nobody is looking and where the bunnies smell so good. What will I do? I'm going to starve....
Hey all, just for the record, until I can find a local, affordable source, I'll be ordering his grain free food online and it will be delivered directly to our door. While Stan is hyperventilating, I'll introduce myself, my name is Kyme. I grew up in Idaho and other than traveling and a few years here and there have lived here all my life. I adopted Stanley a couple years ago from a rescue group where as a 9mo old big boy he had been picked up roaming the streets, very underweight and with lots of illnesses. I fell in love with him the moment I saw him and have been wrapped around his huge paw ever since. He is now a very healthy 3yr old who loves to play, snuggle and eat.
Stan and I are getting ready to move to New York in a few months. So I figured I would catalog our adventures here. Locally Stan has a fan group so starting a blog for him will just spread his stardom. Oh, I think that got his highness' attention...
*profuse amounts of slobber* Ok, better now. Mom seems to have the food thing under control. Now if she can just figure out where we will hang out, camp, hike and all that stuff we should be good to go. What? There's no hiking, camping or hot springs in NY? I think I may just lay down here and expire.
